Save before you post
On TikTok’s Post screen, open More options and turn on Save to device. TikTok also provides a Save control while editing a single photo or video post.
Download a post you already published
Open your video, tap Share and choose Save video when the option is available. Because it is your own post, you can also review your account download settings if the button is missing.
Use the original camera file when quality matters
The file recorded by your camera or editing app is usually the best master. Platform copies may be compressed, reformatted or include overlays.
Use a link tool only as a fallback
For a public post you own, paste the individual URL into Save Video Online and check the detected quality, audio and file type before processing.
Keep an organised archive
Store the original, final edit, caption text, thumbnail and published link together. That makes later reposting or platform migration much easier.
Practical checklist
- Keep the camera original.
- Enable Save to device before posting.
- Use the native Save video option for your own published post.
- Check output quality before deleting the original.
- Back up finished files outside social media.
