Platform guides

Different platforms fail for different reasons

Choose the source to see tested link formats, audio behaviour, official alternatives and device-specific help.

How it works

From URL to finished file in three steps

The service analyses the source first, then prepares only the format you select.

1

Paste the original link

Use one complete URL for an individual public video or direct media file.

2

Choose the output

Select a compatible MP4 quality, maximum quality, or MP3 audio when available.

3

Download the result

The server prepares the file, joins video and audio when needed, and provides a temporary download.

Built for clarity

A downloader that shows what is happening

Many video pages store picture and sound separately. Save Video Online handles that processing and shows each stage instead of leaving you staring at a frozen button.

Public does not automatically mean copyright-free.

Only save media you own, have permission to copy, or may lawfully use under a licence or applicable exception. The tool does not import login cookies or bypass private, paid or DRM-protected media.

Individual URLs only

Profiles, channels and playlists are rejected to reduce bulk extraction and accidental misuse.

Practical output choices

Start with compatible MP4 for everyday playback or choose maximum quality when file size matters less.

Temporary processing

Generated files expire automatically and the service is not intended as permanent storage.

Useful errors

Private, deleted, unsupported, region-restricted and protected media return specific explanations.

Questions

Before you paste a link

Which video links work?

Support depends on the source website and the current extraction engine. Individual public video posts and direct media URLs are the best candidates. Source websites change, so no list can guarantee every URL.

Why are there several MP4 options?

The source may offer multiple resolutions and codecs. Compatible MP4 is the simplest starting point for phones and computers. Higher resolutions can take longer because video and audio may need to be downloaded separately and merged.

Can the service access private or paid videos?

No. It does not import browser cookies, log into accounts, bypass subscriptions or defeat DRM. Those URLs should fail rather than being unlocked.

How long are files kept?

Files are temporary and are removed automatically after expiry. Download the completed file promptly and do not use the service as storage.
