How to Download Your Own Facebook Videos, Reels and Live Recordings

Facebook provides several owner-only download routes. Start with those before using a third-party link tool.

In one sentence

Use Facebook’s official tools to export your own videos, download a Reel you shared, save an ended Live recording and archive a Page.

Export your profile information

Accounts Centre can export selected Facebook information to a device or external service. You can choose the profile, categories, date range, format and media quality.

Download a copy of your Page

People with full control of a Facebook Page can request a Page download and choose the categories, media quality and date range.

Download a Reel you shared

Facebook provides a device download option for eligible Reels you created and shared. Availability can depend on device and post settings.

Save an ended Live video

After an owned Live broadcast ends, Facebook provides a download option from the video library on computer for eligible recordings.

Use a link downloader only for a specific authorised public post

When you need one file rather than a whole archive, a public post URL can be analysed. Never import account cookies or use private links.

Practical checklist

  • Use Accounts Centre for profile archives.
  • Use Page download for a Page you control.
  • Use the native owner option for your own Reel.
  • Download ended Live recordings promptly.
  • Keep the original camera or production master whenever possible.
