How to Export Your Own Instagram Photos and Videos

For a full backup of your own Instagram account, the official export is better than saving posts one at a time.

Use Instagram Accounts Centre to export your own information, select media, date range, format and quality, and keep a complete account backup.

Open Accounts Centre

In Instagram settings, open Accounts Centre, then Your information and permissions.

Create an export

Choose Export your information and create an export for the Instagram profile you want to back up.

Choose where it should go

Instagram can prepare an export to your device or, where available, to an external service.

Select only what you need

Choose the information included, date range, format, notification email and media quality. Higher-quality video creates a larger export.

Download promptly and store it safely

Official exports are time-limited and can contain private account data. Keep the archive secure and do not upload it to untrusted services.
